Anyone ever been to San Jose Island , Texas ?? I hear it's ferry access only. Are there any restrictions on Detecting ??
Any Info is appreciated. Thanx

After 45 minutes of searchng the web, I haven ot come across any restrictions regarding San Jose Island.

However, it seems to be under the jurisdiction of Port Aransas so any laws/regualtions/restrictions that they may have may apply to the island in question. I once did a search for those laws and the only thing I ever came across was that there is no metal detecting in State Parks. I'm sure you knew this already but, San jose Island is NOT listed as a state park.

You can take any boat you wish to the island. You are not limited to the ferry.

If I find anything else, I'll post it here.

San Jose Island tx. is privately owned and is a working cattle ranch, I have been told the owners don't like uninvited people on their island. There is a boat that takes fishermen over to jetty on the island side for fishing. I think the Woods family are the owners.
