Same park hunted over and over.....

Went back to that park again today. Set my E Trac on expert this time. Newbies first try on expert. I got these settings from someone on this board. Don't remember who from though. Will try to find the post and get back with that info.

Deep: off
Fast: on
Ground: difficult
Volume gain: 28
Tone Id: multi
Threshold pitch: 28

Decided to hunt the whole time with these settings just to see what I could find.

Found a 1944 wheatie and lots of other clad coins. Then got a very high pitched signal. Very deep. Decided to dig it. Dug the plug and folded it over and there was
the silver glint. I picked it out and knew it was a silver dime. Holy Sh..t. I went right over to my water bottle to clean off the mud. It's a 1943 Mercury Dime. No mint mark. It's the best, worn wise, mercury dime I have found so far. I don't find a lot of silver coins but even one once in awhile is great. Attached is the front and back pictures of it.

Thanks for reading.

Great job Dan! Appreciated the whole story and the pictures. As soon as you get to feel comfortable start filming those digs. You'll really enjoy watching and getting that feeling all over again....and I've got to say I've learned a lot about my "tones" and signal sounds by listening to them over again even though I know what the target is. Congratulations again!

Thanks NebTrac,
If I had a working camcorder I would have been filming. I love to watch the detecting vids on youtube. Guess it is time to get a new camcorder.
Do you recommend any good ones for this type of filming?

Also, the detecting mode I got was friends with: Goes4ever, NiagracountyNY, Vidslayer, Neswiper and OhioCoinHunter. I guess these guys have vids on youtube.

Thanks again,

Dan.

Dan,

I don't know about Goes4ever. I use a Kodak Zi6 and I think OhioCoinHunter (Dan) does also. It fits in you pocket and you need to take care of it but so far I haven't had any problems. I feel the sound and the macro are its greatest features. I highly recomend a tripod but understand if your in a crowded park...it wouldn't be as much fun.
