I've been lax in posting my springtime finds with all my detectors. This one gets posted because the Excalibur came last summer when I was laid in a hospital 180 miles from home for 35 days and this week was my first time in the ocean with it. Iy was also the 1yr anniversary of my ordeal, Im okay now. I had bought it off eBay last year with a carbon fiber straight shaft. I believe the seller participated here on Findmall. Any way I'm having a blast with it. My style of summer water hunting is in a wet suit so I can move freely and not swamp waders. I would estimate this 1940's-50's style birthstone ring was sitting in the ocean probably 40+ years due to the alloy leeching it exhibited. Some fine metal polish cleaned it up. It's 6.1 dwt with the stone. It (according to my jeweler buddy) to be high quality lab created ruby, it was kinda the ugly duckling turned swan with a little polish.
