I have worn Crocs and they were pretty good, I just purchased a pair of Henderson Insta Dry dive boots. These speedo's look like they may be good for the beach as well.

BCOOP

Dive boot with rubber soles. Bass Pro Shop $29.95 They are as good as $79. boots I have bought and they have a lifetime warranty.

Chuck

my first dive boots had a zipper they did not hold up long

after that I went to the just above ankle slip on and they work great

I got my last pair at http://www.leisurepro.com/Prod/CategoryID_983/Context_980/Sort_Stock/DescSort_0/BLRS.html?Hit=1

I used crocs in a pinch one time they worked better than I thought but dang uncomfortable when a piece of shell got me.

I agree. I have a pair with the zipper. You can't unzip them because the zipper gets clogged with sand on the way off the beach. I also use a PI detector and having a metal zipper in your shoes is just asking for false signals. My next pair will be Velcro or slip on.

My preferred choices are barefoot, or cheap water shoes if there's a lot of trash or if I'm going to be working slippery rocks and need the extra traction.

I bought a Pair of Sandal called Merrell ,I believe they are made by Hushpuppies. I found mine on ebay.Used them for 2 years and they meet the requirement that you want
