SALT WATER AND GOLD?

New member
I am now using an exterra 70 for all my metal detecting.I live in Quebec so I detect a lot of freshwater lakes, but I spend a few months every year in Myrtle Beach. I want the best salt water detector for depth and sensitivity to small gold. Are the PI units better than the multiple frequency units such as the Excal in depth and sensitivity? What would be the best fresh water machine?Any information you can give me is appreciated. Thanks and HH. John

A PI will give you more depth but if I was hunting freshwater I would go with the Excalibur or CZ21...

The trash aspect really comes into play since the PIs dont have disc. I know in parks it gets really intense picking thru DISC tones let alone hearing them all.

Garrett Sea Hunter MK2 and Infinium LS both have DISC mod.You can also switch coils and headsets without sending them back to the shop!!

Not about to question the junklord BUT in fresh water (and I had a Sea Hunter Mk II) I like the Excall for my style of hunting. Good luck on your choice. HH :minelab:

Thanks for your input guys,I will probably go with the EXCAL.HH.John
