Salt setting

Does the area around the coil get smaller when you switch over to salt and wider when on enhanced? I was thinking of using it as a tool when hunting trashy areas with the 8 in coil instead of buying a 5 in. It seems to work good in that setting

Not sure if the area around the coil gets smaller but when hunting real trashy parks with a lot of zinc pennies I like to run the salt mode so zinc pennies come in in the zinc area. Helps me avoid digging them if I don't want to.

Thanks Bill I just learned something. I was wondering how to avoid those.

One thing I do know is on a CZ-3D it kills the depth or at least on mine. I have a 11'' Merc. buried in a test garden I can easily hit in enhanced mode,But when I switch it to salt I barley get a peep. Regardless trash or not I always hunt in enhanced mode and done so since my first CZ-3D that I bought new the first month they came out. Wish I would have kept it as it was a goodun'. But the FT I have now is ''almost'' as good though.
