SALT LAKE - SILVER RING IN THE SCOOP - water metal detecting

sdesic

New member
Hunted for 4 hours in salt lake shallows.
Cold water was bearable but I was mostly in shallow water.
It was good day before the storm and rain.

Loot is here:

A great hunt, the plastic ring is great!! :twodetecting:

I was chasing another target and I gave up after 30 minutes of digging.
Big rocks are hard to work with ...
+ underwater
+ 0 visibility
+ cold water

in 3 hours I encountered 3 of those ... bummer

NIce silver! Interesting the coins look like they were next to Iron?

Most of these coins are copper over iron core.
They tend to go crazy in salt water.
If they were longer than 6 months under they crack and iron rusts ... rocks eat away or break them.
Very badly made coins ... they are bad for detecting too
they show as ID 60-70 ... if on edge they act like iron
