Safe to hip mount?

Hi folks, I've seen several posts about people having problems hip mounting the Infinium. Something about the flex on the cable connector causing breaks. I'm a bit disappointed to hear that as that was a huge selling factor to me. Was that a temporary problem or is it still occurring and if so, any advice to reduce it happening or are they not hip mountable after all?

Thanks
Jennifer

I, personally, have been usin' the Infinium LS since it came out and I use it alot. I always hip mount and I've never had any problems with the coil cable waring out. Of course, I loop it around and through the web belt provided so that it won't 'cause any undo stress upon the connector flex. Yes, I've also heard about peolpe still experiencing problems with it like this, but I just don't see it.
I feel confident that, even if I did experience any problems with any of my search coils(cable connector or otherwise), Garrett's would replace it no questions asked.
Best of luck to ya!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

I hip mount mine all the time and have never had any problems. I like it on the hip so I don't have the extra weight th swing. Go with the hip mount !

Go for it...no probs here either.
