safe temperature for ace 250

I don't see it in the manual. what is the safe temperature zones to use the ace 250 in? The ground is frozen but my son is itching to get out. Thought maybe we could try some mulch areas at a playground. But it is supposed to be pretty cold this weekend. How cold will it work ok in?

It's not so much the electronics as the display! Below freezing you're pushing the issue but I can't remember what Mary at Garrett had told me. John Edmonton puts a hand warmer pack on his control module to go out in the cold. Hunt the open area in front of the swings as this is where the kids land when they jump out. I don't find much under a swing. Hunt under anything that is crawl over under around and through. Hunt the wide open areas of the bark chips as this is where you find the adults. Turn your sensitivity down after the other areas and go around the metal poles. You'll probably have to turn it way down. Have fun and post up.

well the weather is calling for 38 on friday and rain and 33 for saturday with snow...........HOPE they are wrong.....:clapping:

Look for John Edmondton here on the forum and PM him.
Ask for information about how to winterize the Ace 250.

I put a hand warmer in the battery pack and wrap housing in Wool and some sandwich over the
faceplate of the VDI. Keeps my Ace battries toasty warm in30 degree weather. Colder than that
and I stay inside. Keep the batteries warm and they won't drain very fast. I also wrap sandwich
wrap around the hand grip so it doesn't get so filthy. Make sure you wear some gloves, even
if they are only thin workman's gloves. That should be enough to keep your hands from freezing
and still be able to handle the machine comfortably. Bulky gloves makes it more difficult
to manipulate the machine.

in the Hot Sun As it gets bloody hot here in Oz but it still works like it should. I just power it down and rest it in the shade for a bit. Garrett made a tough machine with the Ace series

Be careful with the handwarmer, they can get pretty hot. I would also be a little concerned about the warm and cold meeting inside the machine causing condensation. I operated mine this morning and the windchill was around 15. No problems. Machine outlasted me!
