Safari ??

Hi all I'm thinking about getting a Minelab this year.
My question is can the Safari tell you the size of the object in the ground?
thanks and happy Hunting

But it will give a blip at the begining and end of an object. Kinda hard to hear but I can most of the time tell how large or long an object is.

Pinpointing is a very reliable way to have an idea of the size of a detected target.

I used the GTI from Garrett : it works only in clean ground. I mean, when yo have a discriminated target like a nail, under the coil at the same time than a coin-sized target, the GTI will announce the coin as a larger target.

Rely on your ears !

Thanks all ! I'm using a Gtp 1350 right now. I like the profiling it is pretty accurate. I just think it may not be getting that deep stuff.
I have read the minelab really goes deep. Thanks again Scott

I will run my Tesoro Umax up against the Safari any Day! Safari way over priced for some bells and whistles!

My backup to my new Safari is a Tesoro SilverUmax, one of the lower end Tesoros. Because of the dependabiity and accuracy of this little inexpensive Tesoro I almost went with a higher end one than with the Monelab Safaria. I agree that the minelab is a bit over priced but the results I have been reading on the various forums is astounding. My next machine will probably be a Tesoro. They are indeed a very fine machine, probably one of the best. Onus

Until I get over some deep silver I won't/can't say the Safari was worth the amount of money I spent on it. Thus far I've found everything else but silver coins & gold with the Safari. My little Tesoro Silver uMax, however, was the best money I ever spent on a detector (and I still have it and won't get rid of it).

The one thing I can say that I really like about the Safari is the ability to read the numerical values and hear the tones and thus make a better informed choice as to whether or not to dig the item. With the Silver uMax I have found my share of silver and gold items, but the Safari has yet to prove as much to me. But then again, I am now living in SW Washington state whereas before I lived in Southern California. So it just may be that where I now live the ratio of good targets to bad isn't quite as high as when I was in California. But I'm going to keep giving the Safari a fair shake. It just may prove to me yet to have been a good move from the Tesoro.
