Safari to Etrac upgrade

I've been using the Safari for nearly 2yrs & I'm very pleased with it. I've been thinking of moving up to the Etrac. Was wondering if anyone on here has made the move from Safari to Etrac & if it is worth it. Thanks

I just sold my Safari because I didnt use it after I got my Etrac. The Etracs ability to descriminate much better is the secret to good finds in high trash. In clean ground I think the Safari is every bit as capable as the Etrac but in high trash, the Safari gets blown out of the water. I am happy I switched and now have 2 Etracs. If you can afford the Etrac, you wont be sorry. I still am amazed at how this machine can sort through trash and get you a goody almost everytime I take it out.

Found a lot of Silver with the Safari....That said I found a lot more with the ETrac... and I mean a lot more.

Far less iron hits too... Once I started using Goes4evers settings I never looked back...... It was amazing the same areas I used the Safari on produced that much more Silver with the E-trac.

In my opinion other than both having the FBS technology they are totally different machines with little or no comparison.. Others may not agree with my assessment..but that is how I see it..

The Etrac is also much better balanced. The Safari would kill me on long hunts. The biggest difference for me was the Etrac could give me more information on targets due to having both ferrous and conductive id. I was not completely convinced I was making the best decision to move up, but I truly am happy that I finally did.

I had a Safari - it's a great machine but ...Yes, get a E-Trac - you'll be very happy you did !

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I like a lot of the features the Etrac offers over the Safari, but was a little hesitant to make to move for fear it would not be worth it. Thanks I feel better about spending that extra money. That means I'll be back a square 1 trying to learn a new machine, but that's half the fun.

I used Safari and sold it! I love my E-Trac! I found lot more nickels on E-Trac than Safari because of pull tabs! ID Target in E-Trac 12-13 is nickel 8 time out of 10! I think depth of coins is about the same!

My only complaint with The Safari, is The slow Processor, man you had to swing it slow, even when targets are far apart like in open area hunts. So Does The Etrac has a faster Processor ?

I was able to use a friends CTX one day, Now that 3030 is got a lighting fast Processor.

I used a safari for a year and went out 3-4 times a week. Ive had the e trac for a week now and i will have to say the e trac is leaps and bounds above the safari! The response time alone makes up for the extra cash paid. Depth is greater and the on screen info is easy! There is not much of a learning curve if you have already been using the safari just more options for different situations. I would recommend the step up from the safai.

I'm in the same boat. This will be my 2nd season with the Safari, pretty pleased with it except in the trashy area's...just to slow to recover. I just didn't have the 15 hundo to lay down at the time. Maybe I should start saving up. At least my coils and RnB battery pack would work on an E trac as well

Yeah that's another bonus to upgrading to the Etrac all my NEL coils will work on it. So I don't have to put out more money for coils. I'm learning how to work thru the trash & iron. I have to go real slow & try to pick thru it. It does take time to try an pick out & PP the good targets amongst the trash but it is possible you also cant go by the TID. I have dug IH's in with iron that read -10 (iron) but didn't have that iron sound so I dug them & was surprised to find IH's with iron nails

I moved from an SE to an E-trac and absolutely loved it. The E-trac is "THE MACHINE"!
