Safari on land

GPete

New member
Hi all, I am leaning pretty heavy on a new Safari. I am coming from an M6 which was nice but I am ready for a switch. I purchased Andy's book and am working my way through his book before I buy. It reads well and everything makes sense. I guess my question is, I see lots of success on the beach. It unquestionably works great beach hunting. I do plan to use it there when I can but most of my use is on land. How is it working for everyone on land now that we are midsummer and everyone has put some hours in on their machines dry land hunting? Any issues or problems or quirks? I am not questioning this machine is great, I just want to hear how it is going in the parks, fields, etc. Thanks!

I just finished Andy's Quattro book. I am going to read it again and put in an order. This just looks like such a well designed detector.

I've had mine about 3 weeks and im loving it, using the preset coin I hit my first merc. at 7 inches and dug 3 c.w. bullets in heavy trash. The all metal wont drive you nuts (me anyway) like my other brand did and I like the tones (or flutes). It's a little on the heavy side but I'm getting a good workout, I think you will love it to GPete. Dale

I have had my safari for a while now the more i use it the more i like it,the only thing i will tell you is always keep it in the high trash not low ,in low the target recovery speed STINKS ,when in low when you go over iron and the machine nulls out you cant pick up any good target ,try it you will be surprised, put a piece of iron next to a coin 7 inches or so away, come from the iron side first as it nulls over iron you cant pick up any good target until the machine goes back to a thresh hold,in high it is much better, this machine is real deep,i also have a f75 that i love, both machines have there good and bad points like most detectors, good luck and HH, tony c
