I did this test by laying two of each of the coins listed on the ground. I took a clean coin and an identical coin that I had dug recently that hasn't been cleaned yet. With the exception of the silver dollar and half penny. I only had one each of those. And I didn't dig either one. Being new to this machine, I just wanted some general numbers to help me get started. This machine sounds off alot. My wife says don't worry about the numbers. If it sounds good "dig it". I think she just wants another ring!
Let's try and get to the beach one evening this week. I would like to do a test run for this Saturday's club hunt.

As you can see below, I have modified the scale alittle.

Thanks for the info. This Safari is going to take me a while. I dug two times yesterday in my first outing with mine. One was a clad dime, the other a beer can that read 33?, but it was pretty deep. It was very wet, I only had 30 minutes in between rain showers, so I was rushed a little. The can sounded off well?? Time to re-read the manual and test some more.

I find cans that sound good. One test that I do when I find a very good target like that is hold the coil above the ground about a foot, if I still get it I know it is a large target and not a coin.

I had a friend here on the forum from Australia inform me that the "silver stack" is actually a screw cap. Thanks for his input. That makes more sense.
