Hey guys,

I wanted to know who's the best at finding jewelry(gold and silver) with the Safari? I currently use a Garrett detector, but i'm saving for a Safari. Please post pictures as well as a ring count!! Safari do good with jewelry? Also how is it on the beach? I hear that's where most the rings are..thanks guys!!!

Well. first.. how good on a beach..... Its a 10 +++ you won't find a better operating detector on a salt-water beach.. minelabs rule here.....

Jewelry.. I think i only scored one gold ring with the safari.. but.... It was a 1932 18kt class ring..I believe it read a solid 18-19 and was a measured foot in the ground !!!

The Safari does fine on gold and is a great beach machine, but because of being a Minelab FBS detector, it's much hotter on silver.

came out of a turn of the century meadow in one of our city parks... Still get some people there... but nowhere the numbers from what early pics depict..

No joke, here a picture of my first summer detecting jewelry with a SAFARI.
This machine is very good, but slow.
I'm not selling my!!!!!!

Picsous amazing!!! what you mean slow? all that at the beach or what???

That was recover (2010 ) from one lake in Canada with 3 small Beach's,its slow to recover after you hit a target,
need 2-3 swing to get back to work.
I did find lots of silver coin ( 120 coin silver) from that lake and I'm not done hunting this lake yet.
One good trick for you ,dig all targets.
Next summer i try my Tesoro Sand-Shark on it.
Good luck with your SAFARI

Picsous all that jewelry and silver coins with the Safari? Is it as simple to use as i hear..compared to Etrac and Explorer SE?

Yes all these find are with the safari up to 2 1/2 feet of water and the Fisher Aquanaut 1280 for deep water. The Safari is easy to use,i never try the Etrac and Explorer .

Did you silcone inside of Safari Shaft to keep water from coming back in unit.I was thinking doing that,I had trouble with Cam Lock on shaft in salt water had to clean in fresh water each night.

I dint put silicone in my shaft, but I'm careful.
I only used once my safary in salt water,i bought the Sandshark for my trip in the south, here in Canada where
i live no salt water around ,but lots a black sand.
Here a picture second summer and same lake,i like this lake for detecting since its in front of my house.

Picsous when i purchase a Safari i'll kill you with questions!! you were warned in advance!! can you private message on here..is so, how?

For all your question on the SAFARI buy this book Mastering the Quattro by Andy Sabisch,
( book good for safari )with that book you will no everything.
Very good book to have for reference.
When you are detecting at the beach, dig all target,it will pay !!!

Thanks for the info!! everyone feel free to keep throwing ring counts and pictures!!!
