Safari hits gold

Been TH for many years with every make and model known to man. Picked up a new Safari a few weeks ago and found a 10k class ring (over 1/2 oz) my first time out. Now this morning, this beauty turns up. 14k with many diamonds all real. Weighs in at just over 1 1/4 oz's. Looked for the chain but it never showed up. Does it get any better?

If it gets any better, I'm coming with you. Nice find, I'll be getting out tommorrow. Ron :detecting:

Thanks Ron, I very nearly didn't dig this since it registered a 30 on the VID. I was expecting any gold (rings) to come up between +12 and +20. I guess with it being a different shape the ID was thown off. Just goes to show you should dig all targets if questionable.

We dream of finds like that. You don't need to dream anymore.
I would say that the main reason that it registered so high was because of the amount of gold in the piece, plus what it is alloyed to, ie copper or silver. A gold sovereign would register in a similar range to what you got there.
What a fantastic find.
Mick Evans.

Hey Rollie, Mick has a point. I was thinking about what might be holding them diamonds in place. That might also have helped produce a higher number. Ron

Nice.....

Man that is a nice piece.

ONe Word.......... WOW!!!!!!

That sure is a FANTASTIC FIND !!!

I just don't know. I'm planning to take it to a jeweler friend of my wife. The diamonds tested positive but I've read that even Moissanite can fool the diamond tester so I'm not getting my hopes up yet. If they are diamonds they may not be the best quality, but we'll see what the jeweler says. Regardless, it's still a nice find for me.
