Hey Y'all,
It's been a while since I posted anything on here due to my metal detector being stolen. Last June my girlfriend and I went canoeing/fishing and I left my truck at the take out point. When we got there, I noticed that my truck was unlocked. I had pushed the button on my key chain to lock it when we left, but for some reason it didn't lock. I looked around inside and didn't notice anything missing until I went to put my dog in the back seat. That's when I realized it was gone. I had about $200 worth of tools, my checkbook and about $5 in change in there as well and all that they took was my detector. Talk about a kick in the pants of what was otherwise a wonderful day after catching a 17" small mouth bass just minutes before take out. I filed a police report, posted signs, checked pawn shops but never found it. Finally yesterday I couldn't stand it any longer and ordered another one. I'm hoping it will arrive this week as I've found several home sites and an abandon church recently that calls for me to go there and find their hidden treasures. I'm not so sure I'll be keeping this one in my truck this time.

That's a bummer Hugh. If you had comp. insurance . they should cover the cost minus your deductible. Better luck in the future!!!

That sucks. They probably pawned it for 1/2 its worth. Glad you are getting another machine. What did you buy?

hugh, like another fella on here said, that sucks! yeah, we noticed you hadn't been around in a while. but that's ok... with your new machine, i just know you'll be making some great finds soon. hh,

I bought,,,,,,,,,,,, ok don't laugh:laugh:, but it's all that I could afford....I bought a discovery 1100..:detecting:...I've used one before and had many great finds with it so I figured, what the hay.

hey hugh, there's no shame in owning a bounty hunter. i still take my pioneer 202 out once in a while. i've made many great finds with it. i'm glad to see your're back out in the field - you can always save up and get another machine. looking forward to your posts, and hh,

Went out today w/ my buddies Felix & Percy w/ my new machine....Hunted at an old ferry on the James that now houses canoeing and tubing. We didn't find any relics but between the three of us we dug up 123 quarters....It felt good to be back in the field even though we only found clad coins.
