Sad day for the detecting community...Dave passed away

From the land of the Bluenose.....a very sad day as my very dear friend and digging buddy Dave (aka The Bardman) passed away on Saturday. His daughter phoned me early this morning.

The good natured bantering about the virtues of the Whites over the Garrett.

The down to earth level headiness in all things that are life.

Coffee at Tim's.

The long drives and conversations while going a digging.

The twinkle in his eyes everytime he saw a playing field or a road sign for a school.

Thursday at Sidelines with Raftaman, Leslie and the rest of the crew.

His favourite line. "I see Les your going around the field like a drunken sailor!"

These things I will miss. Can only hope that you are up in the big schoolyard above swinging away.

For those that knew him a bottomless void now exsists.<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5d605b3127cce9392f03ed24b00000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>

I never knew your friend, but friends and family are always missed. Their void can never be replaced. We each have to carried more of a load now. We have to show kindness, love and that personal character which makes each us unique. It make the world a better place for all of us. I thank you for your posts and who you are. You are a unique person Les, and he was blessed to have a friend like you. I pray you are a blessing to his family as you are a blessing to us on this post.

Thanks for sharing a bit of the mna with us, Les. Yes, he's gone... but never forgotten, with friends like you.
My sincerest condolences to you, my friend. Peace be with you.

Les,
My sincere condolences to you and your friends family. I'm sure he is up there right now swinging that coil in the big playground in the sky :detecting:

Dang Les what a stinking bummer. That hurts and I'm so sorry for you bud. He didn't look to old. What punched his ticket? Was he sick or was it sudden? Looks like he was a fun guy. What a shame and what a loss.

Bill

Sorry to hear of the passing of your good friend and hunting buddy. I hope you can fill that bottomless void with all the good memories you have of him and the all the good times you had with him. My deepest condolences to his family in this most grievous time.

My heartfelt condolences to you Leslie and Dave's family. It's difficult to lose someone dear to us. Ron

Yeah that's a nasty one. Lost a couple of friends to that one. What a terrible waste of what was most certainly a wonderful human being. I had a big, fat, bladder cancer but itwas benign and they whacked it out and it ain't never come back.

How old was your bud? Looked like he had a lot of good miles left. He'll probably be right with you every time you're out thumping the dirt and never far away. There's a saying: "We are dead people's heaven." So your bud is probably having a ball every time you go out, there swinging right along side you.

Bill
