Don't spread this around too much please. Most of the other guys in my area use the Explorer or DFX and I'd like to keep it that way.

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will be surprised with all the great information available here. It is no surprise that the Tesoro will out perform the Minelab in certain locations especially in the nail infested old house & old church & picnick grove & old fairgrounds type areas, etc. While I'm no Minelab fan, I do have an EXll, and with it I have found some increadable deep finds, but it likes to false on small iron, and you spend much more time investigating all signals, ya just gotta have more patience with a machine like the Explorers. Depending upon my mood, and patience level, I would rather grab one of my Tesoros and find the good stuff that is being masked by trash. HH...........Hombre

I Purchased VQ,& Soverign same time sept 08.I Did make some nice finds,actually one day decided to go to one of my hunt sites,turned on Sov,walked ten feet with no signals,then first sig after turning after turning on,about two minutes,Large mens gold ring,with diamond cross.In the end had to make decision,Sold Soveriegn,could not get depth as got with VQ.

Sorry,guys it was just a personal test,head to head,the VQ STOCK-MINELAB SOVEREIGN STOCK,VQ 1-2" more On depth,that is in my area.
I think it is because SOV has no manual ground balance for disc mode,in disc mode SOV switches to autoground track.Chuck.
