Im haveing a Problem with the Stanless Steal connectors pulling out the 1/2 barrel wen i desconnect the Headphones or the coil???
Dos anybody have this problem????

I wiggle it as i turn it, its a pain in the butt it works.never usr a ranch or any sort of tool it might break.

Yes i wiggle it at it dosent help??? i happend 5 times im sending the everything in its a pisser?????

IMO, The connectors are a weak link.....just send it back under warranty as many times as needed and make Garrett pay the frieght. The connectors aren't good for taking on and off too many times. Most people won't admit it, but the connectors are poorly constructed.

You know??? Your Right Lake Hunter??? Most People Don`t want too rock the Boat and say somithinng about a Compony???
????????????????????????????????? Wear the Coustmer Man???? If we Dont say something thay Dont Know Right????
So whats the Pins and Neadles About?????????????? Mickfin,

I just gave my personal opinion about the part and how I would try and take care of the problem. Because when you purchased the unit... you also purchasing the warranty that comes with it. So use the warranty as many times as needed to remedy the problem just as you use the machine many times to find treasures . If I was the manufacturer, I would want to resolve the problem the first time since comebacks make no profit. And remember.....just because no one else might be having the same problem as you are, it doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist. JMO

I used a little bit of the grease that you use for a lite for a blinker or stop lite from my truck it seem to work good .

Dos anybody have a Problem with the Connectors on the AT-Pro / Gold Detectors Like i talked about, Dont Worry you can be anonymous????
Just dont put your screen name, Mickfin, Thanks,

I've had a problem with my AT PRO connectors, specifically the coil connector. I also think, again, I think that may be a design flaw, and use a piece inconvenience. Of course my dealer Garret has taken over your refund by a new box, free.
Best regards

I haven't had this issue yet. Is it the pines and receptacles coming out the barrel? A picture would help.
The silicone is what I use on the battery connector of my Excalibur.

All I can tell you is I've yet to have a problem. I've got the 8.5X11, 5X8 and Sniper coils each set up their own lower shaft. I use dielectric compound (especially made for electrical connectors and can be found at any automotive parts store) at the connectors. I change coils around on a pretty regular basis and haven't had a issue. If one were to come up, Garrett being the company they are, would remedy the situation.

I sent my AT-Gold off today, Thanks 4R all your Replys, Mickfin

Sounds like a good tip. I wonder if a bit of that white teflon tape for pipe threads would work also. I would also like to express my appreciation for your punctuation and legible sentence structure.

. Sometimes it is painful to read what a guy is saying when it is sain in one long never ending sentince without punctuation grammer checks and spells cat with a K and moves from one topic to another without any recognizable transition points this really is hard to discipher what dat gee is saying wind dey do dat stuff all the time if you know what I mean from reading sum of da udder posts here.

Thanks stinkfoot, I Alawys Proof read N Fix all my Typos be4R i send it off, Alawys ben that way, Thanks 4R the Good #Rs Mickfin

I had the headphone adapter come apart - sent it in for a replacement. Now, I put a little of the plumber's silicone grease on the sides. The other "build quality" issue that I've had is the two little plastic bits that hold the control unit on the shaft. My AT Gold is at Garrett now, and the AT Pro went back about 6 months ago for the same issue. In all fairness, I have to say that that is an issue for me because I hunt rocky, hilly ghost towns and ruins and my detectors see a lot of use. I put fuzzy velcro on the points of most impact and try to be gentle, but the little stand doesn't do the job- every time I set the machine down, it goes rolling away :veryangry:

I'm planning to build or buy one of the aftermarket pvc stands and make or buy a sturdy cover. I'm also thinking about trying the dog leash sling idea that someone came up with. And Garrett has been great to work with, as always.

Actually it was a generalized observation and not even directed at you. I just put my AT together a few minutes ago. The connection was quite snug and I just wiggled it until the ''O'' ring was seated and the connection flush. Yes it was rude of me to make that previous statement, and I apologize for it. It just gives me a headache trying to decipher a paragraph without punctuation.
