S-1 Big Box Dilemma

Why cant I mount my S-1 correctly? The one cable is just too short! This thing kicks butt but I feel silly mounting it backwards. And yes I have tried moving the upright grip, etc. Thanks. HH. Matt
 
Those big box S-1 probes work great..Very easy to reduce in size and modify.I had two that and reduced each to a smaller size than the stock ones.Mine was made to mount on the bottom just in front of the handle.My suggestion open the lid and plan how to reduce the box,lots of hollow space inside.Good Luck HH Ron
 
The probe you have is made to use with a meter is why the one cable is so short, That cable goes to the meter and the one from the meter will go to your control box which is long enough to hip mount.
Ralph at Sun Ray used to make extensions cable, but don't know if he still does or not, if he don't then I would think if you can find the cable you can take the probe switching box apart and solder in a longer cable.

What i had to do is send my S-1 box back to Ralph at SunRay they placed a 50" cable on my box that was for a hip mount set-up that was 6 weeks ago, all you have to do is tell them what size you need then you can mount your S-1 box anywhere you want , it took less then a week Hope this solves your problem. Jim

Great to hear Ralph is still working on his products. I just picked up an X8 for my etrac, great coil.
 
Matt,I just bought a big box S-1 on Ebay,maybe next week I will share some information and photos on my project.By the way no wires have to be shortened, soldered or removed inside the box to reduce the bulk. HH Ron
