rules

First find out if it is allowed. Second FILL IN ANY HOLE YOU DIG!!! Third take every thing you dig home and sort it out ( good from the bad )
Forth post your finds here so we can enjoy them also. I gess I should have said to learn how to dig a proper hole second so will say it now.
Learn how to center your target under your coil, (learn this at home befor you go to any park) . Use a knife or knife like digging tool and cut
a half circle or pie shape plug around the targer about four or five in" deep and fold it back but DO NOT pull or cut the roots completely ( that
will kill that plug of grass if you do and make a brown spot ). Take a two ft. square of plastic sheeting to put any dirt you dig out on while
trying to find your target. After you find it put all dirt back in the hole and replace your folded back plug and mash it down with your foot to
reseat it and get the air out from around the roots. NO ONE should be able to see where you dug your hole; if you can see it so can they
and that can lead you and others to being band from detecting in these areas and others. Think about what you are doing and what others
are thinking about you while you are doing it and you will be ok. HH

Grass side up when filling holes. It seems simple to me. But I have hunted with people that fill their holes but put no effort in to putting the soil in first then the grass. When making any cut do it at 90 degrees. This way less roots are cut. Plus it goes back together better. If you dig a funnel shaped plug or flap it will just come loose. Learn to "POP' out targets that are shallow.

It varies depending on where you live. Here in the West where I live there are no rules or restrictions. If unsure check with your Parks Department or look for rules signs posted at the parks..
