Rude answers given to post

hunter of gold

New member
Was looking at the post of cemeteries ( again ) and i saw where a couple of you guys came down pretty hard on joeydog.. i think the man was just trying to let you know that he would NEVER hunt in a cemetery, but just asked why people WOULD want to hunt there, a legimitate question.Guess its like the old saying 'theres one in every crowd'. one that just sits back and looks at the forums than nails someone with some smart, answer if you dont like what they post. as you can see that post had a lot of hits but a couple of you had to put a rude answer in for him to read.Maybe it makes you feel good to bad mouth someone if you dont like what they post.If you dont like a post,as one of you said, move on and let it go.We arent here to hurt anyones feelings. As you can see,he meant nothing by what he said and its a shame he had to try to defend himself. We are suppose to have fun here, not bad mouth someone with a smart answer for someone that just joined this forum. im sure hes new because he said he just bought a metal detector, or something to that effect. There may be a post that i dont agree with but i wont answer back with something to make them feel bad especially if they meant no harm by just asking a simple question.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AMEN TO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HI.
been a little yeh I know. Its summer time you know in the south. I been out doing this and that and its been raining and stormy here a lot. The wife and I get off out in the woods up in the hills here and do a little of every thing we can. I have heard of some creeks around here that was supposed to have been found some gold in them . And I wanted my share but some one must have took it , cause I cant find it
I have been reading on the forums and posting a few times but other than the strange stuff I found last Saturday on a short hunt I havent really found anything to post on

Alright... I am not sure if anyone was or was not overly harsh on the fellow. I do know for fact that I do not agree with the practice of cemetery hunting. Anyway my bottom line is that if you are thick headed enough to speculate about such things then for God's sake be a man and take the good with the bad. No one has to agree and I rather enjoy the diversity of opinion. A thinking and inovative group must do this in order to survive and prosper. Our society is one full of special interest groups and piggy backed legislation. Keep your mind sharp and your skin thick because our hobby is always under attack. Even family fights so relax...we are on the same side.

try not to let it bother me much.....i get laughed at some when out in public digging around but hey i find stuff and they dont...

Thank you for bringing up this matter GoldHunter.
Far too many times people fail to really read a posting and end up making comments that have nothing to do with the original authors post.
I have often wondered about the fascination others have in recovering dropped objects in a graveyard. Of course I am only referring to graveyards of the modern type....Heavy metal caskets dug down 6 foot would mean you are not going to be plucking coins and jewelry that were buried with the deceased.
The original author was exactly right in his wondering....Who would drop much of anything in a cemetery???
There certainly in no snack bar or concession stand to make the handling of coinage necessary.
Not likely gramps and the kids were playing and wrestling on the grass, letting gramps pocket change spill onto the grass.
I can think of fewer places than a modern American cemetery in which a detectorist would find a signal let alone a valuable find.

an older lady that i used to go to church with was always telling me to go hunt the cemetary in the town where she grew up. the reason was that they had all their picnics and events right at the entrance to the cemetary. i never checked it out but guess if there are open areas that aren't close to the graves it would be all right but it may still offend people even then.
