Rubber gaskets

I got playing around with those lower rod gaskets for my Xcal because if you are using the ML lower rod you know those rubber ones arent very durable and it aint long until you start wearing that head. What i did was took the lower rod to my local hardware store and fitted it with a round rubber gasket. This gives you a lot of options for more durable one. The one i got currently has a slightly larger hole and before its squashed is larger in size. The one im showing isnt the one im using right now.... it was one i had around the house that i thought .... let me try this. Hate paying $30 for one of those kits..... especially since the factory rubber is very soft.

I added duct tape to mine to thicken it up. Work pretty good.

NP Cliff....now you need to order some of that liquid plastic you sent me the Email on. That has some interesting applications, especially where it comes to coil ears or maybe even repairing a split cable.

Got a 5.7 gram 14K today Hershey...... so looks like this warm weather has them wanting to get wet. Beach was stacked..... but most people still dont want to get in above their waist. We got our fingers crossed that this years spring break will be HOT..... last couple of years had them on the beach.... but not so much IN the water. Redneck tech..... got to love it.
