Royal/Wayne question

ojm bc

New member
Has there been a few more names posting then usual, seems to be a lot of new people? just curious, this is a popular web site seems

i guess i am getting old and cranky because i do not get very interested until they interact with the members. For example we have had a couple new posters in the last few months who posted a story or two and basked in the "glory" but did not even bother to read or comment on any of the stories already here. When i politely questioned one guy on it he disappeared.
No place here for for those kind of drive by posters IMO.

There are many lurkers who come here only for the stories, something for nothing types that i do not want to know. There are also some friends who have left because they just plain burn out on internet forums and i get that completely as it is common.
In defense of them, we do not know what is happening in their lives, there could be serious health or other issues that stop folks from contributing. I certainly know how that goes, the past few years have been a very difficult time for me, physically. mentally, and financially. It has sometimes been really tough for me to come on here and interact and i am not the only one, there are at least three or four other long time members/friends here whom i admire because they have it rough and still try. No names but you know who you are.

Certainly a testament to the quality of the people who have befriended me here that i am able to continue at all. Nuff said.

It is what it is.

Hope things settle down for you, on my side have had a few problems with my elderly folks, cheers. oj

I cannot even imagine how hard you must have it.

But of all the forums I go to, and very occasionally post to, this is my favourite. I come here first thing in the morning.... and last thing at night.

You do a remarkable job, and I truly appreciate it.

problem is the selfish Lurkers that will read and never post a message at all..That has always pizzed me off and found it rather insulting and rude.

I have see a couple come in and, as you say, post a story and NEVER comment on any of the others. I have seen some completely ignore certain posters and I have no idea why except I find myself ignoring theirs too. There is one that I have noticed that has ignored my posts for almost a year :D I can live with that.

I really miss some of them, Sunny, Rob, John, Tom, Butch, Dan, Ron, Dave, Dave (TX) etc but they all left for a reason. Busy, boredom, health or whatever. Man I have gotten tired of it myself but still feel drawn back.

I think this is the only forum I have never seen a fight on.

I have met some great people because of this forum and cherish their friendship

Dealing with life in general takes time for sure, but medical problems make if more difficult yet. I prefer it like this, one forum moderator, no conflicting ways to do it. It's this way or the highway.......Works for me....Keep up the good work.....

I sorta feel like I am not posting a good story or posting one of interest to the majority of the folks on this Forum. All the years that I have posted on this Forum, I have only had a few minor confrontations with one certain member that apparently took a dislike of me for some reason or other, but that is common with any organization or group, and I can live with it. This is a special Forum for me in that I have made some special friends over the years as well as learning about the adventures and life styles of others that live outside the State of Texas. Like Mike, I try to visit at least once a day, but usually end up visiting several times a day. There are many times that time prevents me from posting an immediate response to a story and I will come back later and post a response to it. Yes, this is a special Forum for me and probably always will be. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

good people are what this is all about and the numbers don't matter all that much. Druther have the few good friends here than several hundred claiming to be:biggrin:

and carrying the load for many years. Even now you carry the load as a monitor and you step in to support Wayne as needed. Royal, "Thank You!" for all that you have done. Kelley (Texas)

You, Royal, George, Fred, Mikie, OJ, Willy, Cupa, Ron, Bayrat and the rest that post here, if even posting only occasionally, are and always will be the best there is......internet or otherwise. Life gets in the way sometimes but I'd miss the heck out of this place if it ever ceased. Many would.....even if they've never said it. You guys have a great thing here, regardless of the numbers......and do an excellent job ! I'm betting some of the old cronies return here and there. Seems the last couple of years have been rough for some but things come full cycle eventually. As far as the internet goes, there's no better place to be.

I just found this forum a short while ago and haven't posted too much on the other stories even though they are greatly enjoyed, seeing as I read these while at work from time to time I will have to remember to post on them when I get home. Maybe its the "new guy jitters" on posting..there have been a few forums where people are immediatly "flamed to death" when posting anything if they are not an "established" member. I'm not too shy though :wiggle:

We are just a group of folks that enjoy each's other company and telling some stories. We all just want to have a good time and enjoy life to it's fullest. I would like to welcome you and invite you to join us. Kelley (Texas) :)

Well I will be more than happy to pass on a story or two and show my appreciation of the ones posted:clap:
