about 2 miles from me down at the bottom the hill here. Good trout fishing in it, but its also a place where they kayak summer and winter. I was just wandering U tube and found this. Its just below a section called Diana's Pool, where we all swim in summer. As you can see, this isn't summer, but it sure is a pretty spot and all the locals go here a lot to cool off...

Natchaug River in North Windham, CT.

I am not sure I would be up to doing that any more but I would sure the hell try it. That doesn't look too bad there. That guy is one lucky sucker to have found a woman that will do it.

Our kayaking is nothing like that. We don't have the white water around here but I have been talking it up with Mary and I think she just might be ready for some faster water. I sure am.

Thanks for posting it George:thumbup:

runs hard in the spring time and I still see the crazy ones doing it. Takes a lot of skill and big ones to run the rocky rapids..... The upper stretch of this is nice and tranquil and big slow moving areas. Lot of nice rivers in this section of CT. For awhile here someone had a business going to do it, as I would see them going up with all the canoes and kayaks and different areas dropping them off.... I like the fish it. Some really nice trout in it. Its all fly fishing in this end of it, way up its anything you like....

Natchaug with out ice on it....

I don't know if I would ever adapt to the cold weather long term. While the snow is pretty to look at, it is also cold. George, that is some beautiful country! Kelley (Texas) :)

For us, low 90's and pretty hot and its humid..... This North Eastern section of CT is really a pretty area. Yet it is also getting built up. The economy kind of slowed it up right now, but with land prices low here, its an attraction for many. Down side here is if you have a high end job, they are all at least 1 hour away, so thats 2 hours a day you don't get back.... I need to get a video of it now for you. Much slower running. This brook and 3 others feed a big water supply lake right below me. I can see if off the roof of the house.. Great spot to fish, kayak or canoe... Lot of people there on the weekend. If you google North Windham, CT you will see the lake right there next to the airport. I live on top of Beaver Hill Rd. Ct is pretty small state. One of your counties is more than likely bigger than out state.....You can drive side to side in 2 hours or less. Ocean to northern border about 1 1/2 hours...
