Royal, did you get the eye fixed today? How is Mary doing? :)

have to go back for a checkup at 9am today. Getting ready now. It was an easy procedure and I would get the other one done right now if they would do it . They like to wait a couple weeks though to make sure there is not problem

My vision is now almost perfect in both eyes! Before the cataracts were removed last May my vision was becoming very poor. The actual surgery only took about 15 minutes for each eye, with a few weeks between operations -- they make a 1/8" inch incision at the edge of the cornea and use a B&L inserter, which folds the lens then unfolds it after insertion. In previous years they had to put stitches (ouch!) in the cornea and keep the eyes bandaged for awhile!

It's much easier these days, and it never did hurt. I could see great the next morning! Sometimes, as in my case, a slight haze later forms on the capsule separating the lens from the inner eyeball, so a tiny laser beam must be used to cut a hole in the thang-- this is a "Laser encapsulotomy", and I'll need it sometime this year. Most folks get along fine without that proceedure, so I hope Royal will be just fine from now on.
