Royal 800 coil question

Anyone ever seen a black royal 800 coil? I thought they were maroon, but I picked on up and it looks just like the maroon but is black it has the gold royal 800 precision scanlabel....any help apprciated

Hi TCD,

I have never seen a black Royal 800, I've owned two of them and they are maroon colored. Even in White's catalog they are maroon colored back when they still supported this coil, now out of production. Maybe someone slapped a Royal 800 decal on it and claimed it was the real deal. The ProScan 800 is black in color and both it and the Royal 800 are thin designed coils. The only things different between the two is color and decals and the Royal 800 has the more robust and thicker coil wire.
