Royal 800 coil is Hot!

I found a Royal 800 coil for my XL-PRO. I knew a local long time dealer who had a NOS one. I must admit I was waiting to find a Pro Scan 800 because I like the Black color better then the Maroon. But I decided to buy it as couldn't find a Pro Scan. I'm glad I did as I can run the signal balance wide open inside my mobile home while bench testing and the threshold is smooth as silk! I can't even due that with the little Bullseye coil? I can hit a dime at about 9.5'' with the proper Tone and I.D. as I have the Tone I.D. Modification on my detector. I was wondering are all these coils this hot or do I have a rare super hot one? Thanks.

I'm starting to think it is my RNB rechargable battery as last couple days I was able to do the same thing with my 9.5'' coil with the signal balance wide open it run's smooth as silk. I was able to hit a dime at 11'' with a lock on dime and 3rd tone as my XL-PRO has the Tone Mod. It seems to run a lot smoother with this latest version 3100 Lithium ion battery? I know it sounds crazy,But that is the only change that could make the difference?

I think the royal 800 is the best of the 8" coils produced by Whites. I used the Royal 800 on a XLT with Montes "bushwhack" program and I was pulling nickels at 8 to almost 9 inches deep. Its a good coil.

Harold, you and I have much in common....the Minelab and Sunray coils and a good old Whites with the Royal 800,5.3....right down to the mobile home! My modded IDXPro with the Royal 800 is quite a setup...in fact, that machine with ANY of the coils is quite a setup. I absolutely LOVE the accuracy of it,the 5.3 is wildly accurate with unexpected depth. The Royal hasn't gotten as much usage but it will...I've just been distracted with my Explorer all summer. If my life depended on going and finding coins,it would be the IDX with the 9.5 pancake coil. I have 2 of those coils just in case...and THAT setup is ridiculous.
