Lets start with MARYLAND,TIN FIRST ISSUE 1910,NO PHOTO,but look in the group photo, you will see 1912,1913,1914 ALL PORCELAIN. Of course you also see California run, Mich/Wyoming/W VA.& Vt.,but i am writing about FIRST YEAR ISSUE here.I could write volumes about different plates. NEXT we have MASSACHUSETTS FIRST ISSUE 1903 PORCELAIN. THIS PLATE would be the 49th plate issued in the WORLD! REMEMBER, I mentioned MASSACHUSETTS was the FIRST STATE to issue plates, starting with NUMBER ONE! NOTE: THE NUMBER ONE, Was issued to the "TUDOR" of Masschusetts. They have had that distinction of having NUMBER ONE,till present. The family STILL HAS the 1903 plate!! I have vusually seen it,and had a photo i took, about 25 yrs ago,but can't find it.Back then a retired officer of the RMV,brought it to a meet. The family let him,as he was a close friend. They had been entertaing offers, back then, from "ALA" for $30.000 + ,but never sold it. NOTE THE AMOUNT OF DIGITS, DETERMINES THE SIZE OF THE PLATE. NEXT are two EXTREMELY... EXTREMELY RARE plates. THE "0197" is a DEALER PLATE,All dealer plates started with 0 until the 1920's. THE "Z182" is a 1903 MOTORCYCLE PLATE, PORCELAIN as you can see. It did not like a vibrating Motorcycle! In 1904 Massachusetts issued METAL Discs,Similar to watch fobs, till 1915,when they again issued a 1915 PORCELAIN M/C plate again! And HERE is ROYALS HOME STATE, MICHIGAN FIRST ISSUE 1910, continued Porcelain thru 1914. Very colorful as you can see. Michigan had a "WATER WONDERLAND" and "GREAT LAKES STATE" amongst a few.
