Rosette with monogram....and a whatzit....

Well, both are whatzits. I've been asking around and very few have seen a rosette like this. The bullseye piece looks just like the bullseye rosettes from the CW era but it's got a peg on the back. Any ideas what it really is? They are both the same diameter as a half dollar.

If the peg is malleable, it could it be a fancy, unused rivet? This is not based upon having seen anything the same., just the possibility that an item like that could be used in that manner.
Regardless, it's an interesting find and may generate more conjecture.
