Rose Gold Ring

Treasure Mike

New member
Went to a park I had not been to since January. Found about $4.00 in clad when I got a 40 hit on the VDI meter of my MXT with the Bigfoot coil. I was searching below the seat of one of the little kid's swings at the time. About 1 inch down in the wood chips out comes this pinkish colored ring. At first I thought is was a kid's ring until I picked it up. It was very heavy for it's size(9.6 grams). It's a size 71/2 and the Hallmarks are worn down quite a bit so I could not read the karat mark. The color is what they call rose gold and it tested as 18 K on my gold tester. The clear stone may be a diamond. It is 4 mm which makes it 1/4 carat. I think it's time to invest in a diamond tester. Thanks for looking. Mike

Wow Mike, you just keep making great finds Hope the stone is not only diamond but also flawless.

Good luck and have fun, Bob

Hey, that's always a good find in my book! That's a pretty neat gold tester you've got there. I've never seen one of those. We have a Presidium Gem Tester and it works great. One problem I see is, I'm not sure how helpful the gold tester would be here in Australia, as most of the gold jewelry we find is 9kt. I'm guessing it would show up as "not gold" on your tester, since it's not >or= 10kt.
It would be interesting to see how it reacts to 9kt.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers,
Toby

Mizar makes another model that would fit your needs. I believe it is called the M24 and it tests 9,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24 karat gold. I think I paid about $100.00 or so for mine the M18 and the M24 is about $200.00.
