Rose Gold Anyone?

Flying Pig

New member
Found this in the water yesterday...I know the stones are imitation, however the setting looks old, and not "junkish". It looks suspiciously like copper, and I wondered if copper was commonly used for rings in the past. In googling it, I learned that "Rose Gold" was once common and is apparently making a comeback. Reportedly 75/25 Gold to copper.

I realize it is perhaps wishful thinking, but I am curious if anyone has run across rose gold before. This doesn't hit in the expectedVDI range for copper and in fact falls more like where gold would be.

Thoughts?

Thanks for looking.

I found this chart online that explains the colors of gold:

I found this beauty last year after a coastal storm,,, Marked with the soviet hammer and sickle and "585" (14K) this one was true Russian gold!

Neil to be honest every time i pull a ring like that i tell my wife rose gold and she just laughs. Shes right not one has tested even 10k. I wish you better luck than ive had.

They used to mix copper and brass or something and on top of it gold. The other thing is silver and copper mixed together but a find like that it could look silvery also. You are finding looks pretty to me and I would n't exchange that with anything cheap. Now above all the metals, gold it is the metal that pays higher right now. But you have to do with an object here.
