Hi folks,

I've regularly checked in on this forum for about 7 months now and decided it was time to join up.

I started metal detecting in August of 2009 with the Ace 250. Hit 51 silver coins for the season that ends around here in the first week of December.

Started 2010 with the Ace and I was always impressed with what I was finding... but started to become more concerned about what I was missing. So I started searching online for a better machine which is what brought me to this site.

In August I bought the Explorer SE Pro and have fully enjoyed learning and using it ever since. At the beginning of August I was sitting with 21 silver coins for the year with my Ace. With the help of the Explorer, I ended the year with a total of 101 silvers.


So that's the short version of my detecting career/addiction so far. I really enjoy and appreciate all the great posts that are made and I hope to be able to contribute once the ground thaws here... which probably won't be until the end of February if I'm lucky.

This is a great forum with many very respectable members contributing invaluable advice, tips and techniques... not to mention my favorite... the field test reports and the discoveries.

I like the Explorer forum for the same reasons as you....respectable/knowledgeable members, Explorer finds/posts.......Bryce Brown, Moderator!! :yo:

Looking forward to your contributions!! Sounds like you caught on quickly with your SE Pro. You're off to a great start!

I enjoy looking at the finds posted here I had a pretty good year last year with my Explorer II and I even posted a few finds myself. I just got in this week a new SE Pro!!!! But with the snow on the ground all I can do is drool and dream. I found 60 silvers in 2010 and I hope to find even more this year!!

And I agree that Bryce is an excellent moderator and a wonderful detectorist. He has posted many item to help us become better at this great hobby!!

I will look forward to your pictures of your finds this year. Minelab makes great metal detectors.

Welcome Toprightcorner, i'm new here as well. Same as you i've been watching this forum for a couple years. Was using an X-terra70 and just got my new Explorer Se. Sold my X-terra so i wont be able to fall back if i get discouraged. This forum is full of awesome people who are very knowledgable and are always ready to help. I got some great advice here recently but haven't been able to use it because of weather. Good luck and look forward to seeing your finds. Joe
