Good Value, Good Detector...
The Prizms just came out in 2004/December. Whether its the Prizm II or the Prizm V, they share the same engine unlike the Garrett Ace Series, where the 250 has more HP than the 150.
The Prizm II just lacks some of the Tone ID, Notch, VCO Pinpointing and on the Fly Depth Reading, just like the older technology Classics it replaced.
The Prizm II like the rest of the Prizm Line, is very light weight, and has an easy to read display. The Prizm Line Up also features LOUD Alert, that is, any signal the processor determines is a good signal, you'll hear it at MAX volume, whether its shallow or deep. Modulated Circuits which exhibit softer Deep Target Response can lull a person to ignore that small whisper.
Even though the Prizm II is lacking the On-The-Fly Coin Depth, you can easily estimate the depth and size of the target by using the excellent All Metal Pin Point Mode / 8" Concentric Coil Configuration.
The Prizm's 8.2 kHz +/- lends itself to small gold jewelry sensitivity lost on some of the competitor detectors costing 7Xs as much, and in your case, 14Xs.
If you want to Expand your Depth, Open up ALL the Segments, and anything that reads in the Zone One, Iron OVER 6" should be investigated further BY your All Metal Pin Point Mode, as it could be a deep silver coin.
