Rookie beach hunter...where on beach should I hunt?

I'm a land hunter and don't live near a beach. My brother and I are going to Mexico and will be bringing our MXT and M6. From all you experienced beach hunters, where on the beach should we hunt? Above or below water line? High tide or low tide? I just wanted to get opinions on where the most prosperous areas of the beach are? Thanks for info!
