well after doing a lot of searching here in this forum,it appears to me that rons meter is the meter to get, so i sent an e mail to him and hope to here from him soon, now i need a decent ,but cheap, set of head phones, any recommendations ? thanks larry

Larry, do a search in this forum for "Sony" and stick "Crazyman" in the user name to look for. He tipped me off to $20 Studio Phones by Sony at Walmart. VERY comfortable. About half the size of regular muffs. VERY good audio too. Only problem is no volume control or limiter, so I keep the GT's volume all the way down but seem to be able to hear even the slightest/deepest stuff fine and surface stuff isn't going to blast you this way. Minelab techs though say you should full blast the GT's audio and lower it on your headphones to insure hearing super deep stuff. I seem to be able to hear anything the GT can even slightly pick up, but I'm sure those techs know what they are talking about. The other headphones people love for the Sov are the Sunray Pro Golds, and they have a limiter so you can blast the volume and not get blasted by surface stuff.

Hey Ron, do you think a Headphone sticky would be a good idea? Probably not, as we'd had a ton of stickys if it keeps going like this. Then again, maybe people could stick that headphone info into the Sovereign model sticky.

Critter, maybe we could include this in a sticky(Accessories needed to make your Sovereign Perform)What do you think?? give me a PM. Thanks Ron

Accesseries Sticky- Ron, that's a great idea. You could include headphone recommendations, meters, probes, stands, etc. Make the title Sovereign/Excal Accesseries and then you could include Excal aftermarket heaphones for it, waterproof coil connectors, etc for that machine too.
