Thanks for the motivation... 14k and silver ring are nice and large :clapping: 37 wheatie and a detecting token....and 103 coins for $6.99 enough said :detecting:

Works for me. THat day sure beats one spent on the couch or doing yardwork!

Greg, great hunt nice ring. The 1937 wheat plus another 7 should give you the ratio to get silver.Hollywood Greg you make us proud.

Well to tell the truth...I will take the rings any day over the coins...unless they are the right (key date) ones....thanks. I have started finding a wheatie almost everytime out for the last few weeks. No doubt my stock coil is working well and glad everyone kept saying something is wrong with me not finding certain things except clad....obviously after testing the 5.3 and realizing it was not hitting beyond 3.0 lately I would have never found the rings at 4.5. Also a switch in programs seems to have helped.:detecting:

Back from a one and half hour hunt.Only 7 coins 1918D Wheat,1944 Wheat,1920D Mercury Dime the rest a clad dime and memorial pennies.I have not cleaned the dirt off yet,but the dime is in very good condition.Yea I know the photos aren't the best. The 1918D was found at a depth of around 7 inches the 1920D Mercury dime a very strong target at about 6 inches.

That 5.3 coil can go much deeper on the DFX.
I can hit my 8 inch dime in my test garden with my M6.
Kick your preamp gain up on that 5.3 coil set the disc just over iron.
I can max it on the M6 I also can on the XL PRO and my water detector.
You should be able to hit coins 6 inch deeep with no problems
The DFX is one hot detector but setting it to go deep with the 5.3 can take some time to learn.

The coil was getting as deep as 7.5 before it became erratic. That is why I sent it in. Hopefully it will be back this week.
