Are you talking about this? I attached the file plus here is a link you might want to see as well: http://www.minelab.com/products/treasure-detectors/e-trac?view=faq

Good luck!!

I am afraid there is no such thing as a Roman pattern , sorry . But if you blank anything on the screen you will miss targets , most Roman sites are very mineralised and contaminated with iron and will make the Machine nul and you will miss targets even near the surface at times. Trust me , just use a line across the bottom and very low and slow swing at 29 sens either manual or + 3 auto , gain 27 + and max all else.
deep on if shallow ground or fast on if mineralised not both as they say can be done. Noise cancel at 1 to 3 , conduct tones , threashold pitch 1 to 3 and threshold tone just so you can hear it.
Dont go by numbers , go by sound and dig all low tones and high tones if two way.

I went to England last year

I ended up digging every low sound and that is what you need to do

It was a while before I could get back to my high tone detecting when I returned to the USA

Good Luck

Silver Denarius are mid to high tone, Bronzes are low tone for most less than half inch in size and sometimes high tone and very high tone for very large Bronzes. Gold sound like pound coins or bullets except Quarter Staters which are low tone and Staters are middle tone or like bullet casings . Hammereds are very low or low or high tones. So you pretty much have to dig all depending on the type of rubbish you get on the field in question.
