Welsh Neil

New member
Purchased a second hand Explorer II the other day and had my first real spin with it this weekend. find of the day was a 2000 year old Roman Fibula (clothing fastener/brooch) of the 1st Century AD Dolpin style. Other finds included an 1820 token, a 1797 Cartwheel penny, a Victorian hunting badge, couple of Buckles (one 16th C).

What I wouldn't do to be in your shoes digging Artifacts like that from Fields. Congrats on the Artifacts and Coins. Keep them Oldies comin'! Good Luck and HH.

I showed it to my FLO (Finds Liason Officer) at the Museum of Wales on Wednesday night and he has decided to take it away to evaluate and report on it. Which is good news as it means I get it back in about a month (I don't think the museum will want it), its find spot will be logged for posterity and I get a full report on it including a pretty exact date (1st Century ???). They did the same with the 2nd Century bronze Roman key that I found this time last year as well.

I will post the report when its returned.

Cheers
Neil
