Roman bits from Bedford,UK...

Was a great week at the Bedford rally.
Thanks to Dave 2 Jugs we got huuuge land to work on.
Didnt find much during that week until the last day, finds just jumped up from ground.

I went out rather late in the afternoon to the far end of the camping field. Why I headed for that place I dont know, must been faith who played a trick with me cus when I started up the E-trac and searched I had a signal just a few yards away.

An iffy signal but two ways and deep too...

I was digging carefully and finally had the dry clod in my hand.Opened it up and out come this my first Roman silver denarius. I sat down on the field and just looked at the old silver coin. Called my brother and told him I finally got the coil over some ancient silver.

I went on detecting, and not far away another denarius was found.Deep as well, and iffy, maybe due to the
very dry ground.

I was stunned!!Couldnt believe it....
After that it couldnt possibly be more finds, but it continued to spitting up finds.
Next find was a part of a roman silver ring, after that a roman dress pin or hair pin in very good condition, sharp as it was made yesterday.

Had some other relics as well.It was a warm and sunny day on the field and I had one of my best detecting days for sure.

Im really looking forward to next years Bedford. Then I might bring a tent...
