:About 7 years ago, I was 300 yards up from my house at the local school grounds searching. Decided to go garage saleing, but hesitated to hunt for a few minutes. Up pops a lady who saw me, gets out of her car with a Garrett BFO/w 2 coils and my memories quickly erupted. "Would you show me how to work this thing-it just sets there and howls and growls. I can't complain though-it only cost me $15!" I'm sitting there kicking myself 'cause I had just intended to go to that sale about 30 minutes earlier. When she asked me if I would be happy-was it a good detector-a lump came in my throat but I sheepishly told her that although it was not as deep as some of today's detectors-it was fine-while another 100 reasons went thru my head-hoping she would give up and just sell it to me. Well, fast forward into the future and today my next door neighbor-and remember, only 300 yards from that spot-left this at my door. Appears her late husband used it just a few times before he passed. No, it didn't have the extra large coil, but it DOES have a discrimination circuit the other didn't.
