I TOOK THIS TO A JEWELER HE SAY THAT IN ALL OF HIS IN JEWELRY REPAIR HE HAD NOT SEEN GOLD TURN SO BLACK . THAT IT WAS ROLL-GOLD (DIAMOND EXCHANGE) THEN I TOLD HIM THAT IT WAS 19 -20 INCH IN THE GROUND AT A CIVIL WAR CAMP SITE. O LOOK AT THE PENNY SHOT IN THE HEAD ! THANKS FOR LOOKING 1954STREEROD

That is one different ring. A good find and old by the looks of it .

If it is a gold ring from the Civil war era they had allot of silver and other alloys mixed with it, that could be the cause of the discolor......

Nice finds without a doubt. What I really want to know is how you were able to locate it at those depths? HH Dennis in Idaho

I don't think he meant he found it at 18" with the MXT, I don't see how. I looked up rolled gold. Rob

What coil were you using ony your MXT to find your jewlery at 18 inches? If you are asking if your jewelery looks plated and inexpensive I would say yes. HH Dennis in Idaho

I might add though that they still are great finds none the less. HH Dennis in Idaho

how would you look if you where in the ground for 140 years good to talk to you . civil war history

I am sure I would not look that good.LOL. I still want to know what coil you used to get down 18 inches. Also what mode were you in? That is the deepest target I have ever heard of being found with an MXT. HH Dennis in Idaho

I'm very interested also. Rob

I'm wanting to know the coil you used, etc. NEVER have heard of such a thing. Thanks, Nancy
