RoFro Restoration of "A" Button !!!...(PICS).......

[attachment 12883 afront.JPG][........... I posted this button a few weeks back. I dug the button and shank loop seperately in the hole.Figured then,it was a tin-back !During cleaning the remains of the tin back disintegrated and went down the drain.

[attachment 12884 arear.JPG].....This is all that was left...a good ,strong front. It came from Pleasant Retreat which Longstreet used as a headquarters for a short time just before surrender at Appomattox.

[attachment 12885 MVC-029S.JPG].................For any of y'all not familiar with Roland Frodigh's restoration work on relics, here is the results.I am extremely pleased with the restoration. He is truly a master of his craft !!

[attachment 12886 MVC-028S.JPG]......One question for y'all...Should the back of the button remain as pictured with the "as dug" look or look more cleaned?? I already know how I want it, but whats your opinions??? HH........"Doc"

well if you sell it make sure you tell the buyer the shank etc. has been repaired, other than that i would keep it the same nice find congrats!!!!
