Now that is a novel idea, and a way to get yourself known in the neighborhood...Put out a sign..."Scan your candy for foreign objects here!!!"
Might get ya permission to hunt a few yards...

HH,

I would leave it to the hospitals with the x-rays after my friend and I got the scare of our lives. He was on the police force and he and I donated our time and machines to scan for the kids. We both had CZ-5's and one of them had a 5" coil and we were in a/m mode. We were doing great until a guy came up for a demo and he handed us a pin similar to those that keep shirts together when brand new. NEITHER machine would pick it up! It seemed to be made out of some foreign metal like pewter or something-but it could have been deadly. We immediately packed up and prayed that no one else came across one.

Gotcha! Just a scare I remember vividly and maybe a reminder to anyone. Oldranger had a great idea, if you have the pinpointer,

Well you had me hook, line and sinker ]

Good one.

Jerry

Yeah...I did not think about failures...if you were to detect the candy for the public, and missed an item, and some kid died...YOU might be held accountable...
Ghesh...You can't do anything good these days without being sued...:ranting:
