I have been complaining about not ever finding a wheaty, right?

Today in my car I came across a small plastic bottle in which I had stashed several dirty coins I had found metal detecting somewhere and took the coins inside to wash them. Guess what? One of them was a 1951 penny and I don't even remember finding it.

This is like not remembering losing ones virginity.

One of the guys in our club, was cleaning some finds one winter, since he couldn't detect, and realized that he had found a half-dime. I guess he thought it was a small button and just put it in his pouch. So didn't feel to bad.

Go figure.

Today I found two wheat pennies. My home owner's association has a park several blacks from my house that I hunted today and I found two wheat pennies there. After 15 months of not finding any, today I found two.

They were VERY corroded, one being a 1957 and the other one had a date that has corroded away.

I have heard that where there is wheat, there is silver, however this park was built in the 1970s so I don't get up my hopes for finding silver. I did find a sterling silver ring there today also however.

Hi Mark, congrats on the wheaties. I've only have found 2 myself, unfortunately no silver yet. I'm down in So. Cal now and doing real well at Dana Points baby beach. Almost $8 in clad last 3 days.

I have been lucky to have my favorite place to hunt only just accross the street. The old fellow who past away 8 years ago was a baker who brought home lots of pocket change. He had four daughters and I think he used to toss them coins. On this little 1/2acre I have found 12 silver coins already, and it happened, only after I found 15 Wheats of various age. Where there is wheat there is Silver.

I went back to the private homeowners park where I found the two wheaties and found a VERY corroded 1976 Kennedy half at about 5", a 1970 nickel and several 1970s era pennies. I believe the park was built in the early 1970s and the coins I am finding reinforce this belief.

It is not likely that I will find any silver there, but finding the Kennedy half makes me think that because it is a private park that it has not been searched and therefore may produce some jewelry.

In addition to the silver ring, I also found a dope smoking pipe.
