rock that rings up like a nickel??

About a year ago i found a rock thats about palm size and heavy for its size. its black and has what looks like little tiny speckles of sparkles all over it. i was thinkin in was a meteroite, but it looks like none of the meteroites i've seen on the internet. if it didnt have a bunch of little holes all over in it and wasnt sparkly all over i would think slag of some kind. but i can tell its not. looks like coal and meteorite mix?? i know thats not possible, but im just trying to describe it. i chipped off a piece and its a redish purple color inside?? i would put pictures on here, but i cant figure out how on my new computer. can anyone help me??

Thanks, weston

1. Heavy
2. Stick to a magnet
3. Show signs of the ride down here

But I've heard there are always exceptions to all of these. Ask an expert to look at it.
