Rock signal

DigginDward

New member
Was out at what I guess would be called a trashy site this past weekend and using all metal mode. Got a strong signal and started digging. Long story short it was a big rock giving off the signal so forgive me for being so ignorant but does that mean the rock is partly iron ore? Anyone else encounter this?

If it's heavy, it's probably iron ore. If it's real, real heavy and you live in a lead mining region, it's galena. If it's fairly light and not very hard, it's probably coke (roasted coal).

It seemed typical weight wise. A little larger than a basketball and I was able to lift it without trouble but would not have wanted to carry it very far.
