Not bad...not bad at all. For a "Rock head"... :lol:
 
and shoveled sand out of the wet with both arms like I was digging dirt. On dry, I shoveled out with the pipe tucked in between my arm and torso holding the pipe still. All in all, it was working!! Alittle clumsy though. I couldn't really get the foot action going unless I sat the detector down and worked it.
 
I prefer the long handle over the short ones, much more power leverage especially digging in wet sand........and mine is the heavy stainless steel one.
