Road trip.........Lane raids............:cam:

J-man and I took off on a little road trip. Our 1st stop was Hamburg Pa. at Cabela's Outdoor World. J-man was in need of some waders that would fit correctly and found a great pair.
Then it was off to Atlantic City N.J. for a stroll down their lane......got one thin gold braided ring, plenty of clad and some sinkers. Hit a couple of casino's in the evening......Atlantic City should hang their heads in shame......will not visit there anytime soon.....security was scarce as hen's teeth and casino's for the most part were neglected. Chatted with an A.C. cop for a while and he said the Tropicanna was in trouble in the past for bedbugs.......if you ask me.....they all had cooties. Stayed 5 miles away in a Comfort Inn!!
Next day we drove further north and hit Seaside Heights......ammusement park and beach........very sanded in, lack of targets.
Finally we headed for home and hit one "sinker city beach" and found a couple of very old "things" that are heavy, but not like lead......could be from an sunken ship, they were extremely deep.

Come to Connecticut and visit our casinos.......biggest, best and brightest in the world.......and no "COOTIES"!

Less competition is a good thing I guess.....I'll be glad to dig the gold that you pass on.....I'm not much for gambling anyway....HH....Brian :bouncy:

we find quite a few there too. What, after all the beach replenishment and all. those sinkers are all "bank style" sinkers and they are used mostly from boats drifting right outside of the nearby inlet for fish like flounder and sea trout (weakfish).the sinkers were actually dredged in. so lots of them are 100 years old or better (do you know any fishing sinker collectors?). anyway sorry that you think our casinos are soooo dumpy the bed bug problem happens in just about every hotel out there.....check with the Comfort inn that you stayed at....I bet you would hear some stories if they were willing to admit it LOL.
Anyway.....I guess most people don't feel the way that you do, as the casinos are usually pretty packed. and they are adding more Hotel rooms every day.....great news for us AC hunters.....we'll just keep snatching up the gold that all those bed bug infested tourists leave on our beaches....works for me!!
HH......Brian

The objects with the ??? are depth sounding weights. They would have had a rope tied through the eye at the top and were used by a sailor standing at the bow of a ship to check and call out the depth of the water to the captain so they didn't run aground. Knots were tied at specific intervals so the sailor could tell the depth.
Most probably from 17th to 18th century ship. Cool find !!!

but not visit your casinos. You need to see ours and compare!

I Love the casinos.

Glad you made it out in one piece. Its not the safest neighborhood over there.
