Headed back home this past weekend to take a few days off from work. Stoped a few times to stretch my legs and swing the old machine and this is what I found, 2 silver rings the 1 on left is a good one, the one on the right says 925 too but ,it also says Thailand ha ha. 1 1954 nichel, the pile is all clad and misc.stuff. Thanks for lookn hh PS found the rings 10 foot from each other

way to go, beavertail! nice pile there. i'm sure the ring from thailand is good silver [usually is.] it's mostly the junk from korea, china and italy you gotta watch out for. is that a lead piece in there too? if so, it resembles some of the small lead cakes i sometimes find near battlesites and campsites. good hunt, and hh,

Yep its lead, found it near Alexandria, La. there was a couple battles there during the civil war. I believe it was during what is called the Red River campaign. There was also 2 forts in that area on the Red River. Thanks for the info I thought it might just be discarded lead.

Great finds.
Great road trip as well.
I wonder how many more of us will be able to stand the
gas prices though. Soon maybe by middle of next year gas will in
all likelyhood be $5 or $6 per gallon. Even now its a burden. I don't
drive too far to metal detect now.
